From Fleece To Loom

35.

That’s the minimum number of times the fiber from one of my alpacas gets run through my hands from the time we shear, through the various steps required to process it into a form ready to be spun…skirting, picking, tumbling, washing, drying, opening, carding thrice. Then spinning into yarn, plying, winding, skeining, washing. To dress the loom…caking, measuring, chaining, sleying, threading, beaming, tensioning. Then weaving, winding and loading bobbins, knotting joins, tying fringe, wet finishing.

Every inch of that yarn is selected, nurtured, and pampered to get it where it resides in the finished product. ❤️
